Connecting Your Sites
penr.ai acts as a central hub for all your properties. You can connect multiple sites across different platforms.
Supported Platforms
WordPress
- Connect using Application Passwords
- Supports Yoast SEO meta tags automatically
- Download the penr.ai plugin for enhanced integration
OctoberCMS
- Connect using the dedicated penr.ai plugin
- Token-based authentication
- Download the plugin from the connection page
Webflow
- Connect using a V2 API Token
- Requires Site ID and Collection ID
- Map your collection fields during setup
PayloadCMS
- Connect using REST API with API Key
- Full content management support
- Auth Collection (optional): defaults to
users(most Payload installs). Set toadminsor a custom collection if your Payload setup holds the API-Key elsewhere. TheAuthorizationheader becomes{authCollection} API-Key {key}. If connection fails, this is usually the cause.
Connection Steps
- Navigate to Sites > Connect
- Select your CMS platform
- Enter the required credentials:
- Site name
- Site URL
- Platform-specific authentication
- Click Test Connection to verify
- Save the site configuration
Site Settings
Each connected site can have custom settings that override your global defaults:
AI Generation Settings
- Default Language: Override global language setting
- Default Tone: Override global tone setting
- Site-specific Brand Voice: Custom brand voice for this site
- Custom Image Prompt: Site-specific image generation prompt
- Sitemap URL: link an XML sitemap so the AI knows which pages already exist on this site. During generation the system uses this to:
- Avoid duplicating content on topics you already cover
- Suggest internal links to existing pages
- Position new articles as complementary to what's already online Tip: for WordPress this is usually
https://your-site.com/sitemap_index.xmlor/sitemap.xml.
Google Search Console Integration
Link your site to Google Search Console for performance tracking:
- First, connect your Google account in Settings > Google Integration
- Open your site's settings
- Select the corresponding GSC property from the dropdown
- Search and filter properties if you have many
Once connected, you'll see real-time performance data in the content editor's Performance tab.
The Publishing Flow
Once your content is ready, click Publish to open the publishing wizard.
Step 1: Select Targets
Choose one or more active sites to publish the article to.
Step 2: Choose Publishing Mode
Immediate Publish:
- Draft: Send the post to your CMS as a draft for final review
- Published: Push the post live immediately
Scheduled Publish:
- Pick a specific date and time
- Content will be automatically published at the scheduled time
Step 3: Review Results
After publishing, you'll see:
- Per-site success/failure indicators
- Direct links to published content
- Error messages for any failures
- Summary: X successful, Y failed
Republishing Content
Already published content can be updated:
- Make your changes in the editor
- Click Republish
- Select target sites
- The updated content will replace the existing post
Site Management
Site Cards
Each site displays:
- Site name and platform label
- URL (clickable)
- Active/Inactive status indicator
- Connection health status
Site Actions
- Recheck Connection: Test if the site is still accessible
- Open Settings: Configure site-specific options
- Delete Site: Remove the site from penr.ai
Automated Scheduling
In the Settings menu, you can configure your global publishing cadence:
- Posts per day: Set how many articles penr.ai should automatically publish from your queue (1-10)
- Timezone: Ensure your content goes live at the optimal time for your audience (Europe/Amsterdam, Europe/London, Europe/Berlin)
