Getting Started

Welcome to penr.ai. This guide walks you through creating your account, generating your first article, and configuring your workspace.

Creating Your Account

penr.ai is a hosted service, so there is nothing to install.

1. Go to penr.ai and click Start free trial.
2. Register with your name, email, and a password (minimum 8 characters).
3. Check your inbox and click the verification link to activate your account.
4. Log in.

Your 14-day free trial starts automatically. No credit card is required, and you can cancel at any time. The trial runs on Starter-level limits so you can try the full workflow. See Plans & Billing for details.

penr.ai provides all the AI and data services for you (content generation, keyword data, images). You do not need to bring your own API keys.

Your First Article

The first time you log in, the onboarding wizard guides you through generating a complete article in a few minutes:

1. Tell penr.ai a bit about your business and brand voice.
2. Pick or enter a keyword.
3. Watch the AI analyze the keyword, build the article structure, write the content, and create a featured image.
4. Review your finished draft.

You can re-run this guided setup at any time from Settings > Restart setup wizard.

Configuring Your Workspace

Once you are in, open Settings to set your defaults. These preferences apply to every new article so you do not have to repeat them each time.

AI Model

Choose which model writes your content:

• Claude Sonnet 4.5 (recommended) - best balance of quality and speed
• Claude Haiku 4.5 - faster generation, good for high volume
• Gemini 2.0 Flash - ultra cheap, good for bulk drafts
• Claude Opus 4.5 - highest quality output

Images

• Enable Images: turn automatic image generation on or off.
• Image Provider: pick the generator (Replicate Flux, Together.ai, DALL-E 3, or Gemini). Availability depends on what is enabled for your account.
• Custom Image Prompt: customize the prompt template using the and placeholders.

Brand Voice

This is the most important setting for content quality. Describe:

• Your brand's values and personality (professional, witty, academic, and so on)
• Who you are writing for
• Topics or phrases to avoid

The brand voice is included in every generation. You can also set a per-site brand voice override in each site's settings for multi-brand portfolios.

Content Defaults

• Default Language: your target language (Dutch, English, or German).
• Default Tone: Professional, Casual, or Friendly.
• Target Word Count: a standard length for your articles (500-3000 words, default 1200).
• Require Approval: keep this on so new content stays in Draft until you review it.

Google Integration (optional)

Connect a Google account to track performance with Google Search Console:

1. Go to Settings > Google Integration.
2. Click Connect Google Account and authorize access to your Search Console data.
3. Link a GSC property to each site in the site's settings.

Performance data then appears in the content editor's Performance tab.

Projects

Every account starts with one project. A project keeps its own settings, sites, keywords, content, and competitors separate from any other project. On the Agency plan you can run multiple projects and switch between them from the sidebar. See Projects & Workspace.
